A Winter Arrangement
A fresh take on winter whites, this week we’re learning all about how to create a stunning yet simple Winter Arrangement for our homes, with Laurence Rich, Head of Design at FleuRich.
In the anticipation for Spring and the natural clean crispness we crave during the late winter months, we asked Laurence to talk us through the perfect arrangement to bring light into our homes. Here’s how she created the stunner above…
Using the Shape Planter, I didn't want to use chicken wire or tape in this arrangement, so I started with a greenery base made of Oregon Boxwood to create the structure. The thick stems helps with anchoring the other stems and keeping everything in place.
Then I added Carolina Sapphire, a winter favorite, and Leather Leaf. For a textural fill and color, I used Skimmia and Ginestra.
Having a lush base with lot of texture really highlights the focal flowers I used here; Roses and Lisianthus then soften the hard lights and big blooms with the Hellebores.
Top tip to open your roses, if you blow on the flower the inside petals will start to open up. We always do this to wake up the roses after they’ve been sleeping in the cooler following their harvest. It makes a huge difference to how your arrangement appears and adds that touch of whimsical style we adore.
